“Learn the SEO skills you need to break into sports journalism and digital media.”
“We provide content, search volume, keyword, CMS and SEO strategy for graduates.
We train graduates on live brands, using Yoast SEO, Wordpress and Squarespace.
We fill the gaps not being taught at universities, leaning on decades of industry experience.”
What is SEO Lab 24?
It’s a four-day, 24-hour course designed to help graduates learn the skills they need to secure paid work in sports journalism and the digital media industry.
It’s a remote course so doesn’t incur any travel costs - you just need good broadband, an open mind and a willingness to learn.
“Our job is to understand graduates on a personal basis - what drives them, what inspires them - then give them the room to express their individual strengths.”
“Graduates are on the back foot in job interviews as they have not been equipped with SEO or CMS skills they need - we bridge that gap and teach you how algorithms see content too.”

It was amazing. I think for me, I'm such a practical learner and you're learning so much information within the four days.
They spaced it out and sent me loads of information, but they were also there for me to refer back to, so it wasn't too overwhelming, which I was a bit worried about.
We just took it one day, one at a time and by the end of it, I just felt like I had a really good overall knowledge of SEO, search engine optimisation.
I think the course differs because it gives you a lot more freedom to make the mistakes by yourself.
You're just a bit thrown more out there, but then you know that Simon and Aidan are there on the other end of the phone.
And if you are really struggling with something, they'll sit down with you, talk you through it.
It's one to one as well, which a lot of universities aren't unless you want to book one to one hours with your lecture, in which case you get about 20 minutes.
Whereas this is all day, they're constantly available and you have undivided attention, so that's why I feel like that differs.
Both Aidan and Simon are very patient people because I was definitely stressed at some points, but they were just kind of able to calm me down.
I learned so much from the four days.
Everything sounds intimidating, but genuinely everything is broken down so incredibly clearly for you throughout the course.

I think the whole digital space sometimes can seem a bit overwhelming and I thought it would be super technical and complicated.
But it was nice because Simon took it back to basics and then it just developed from there.
By the end of the week, I was just editing, formatting stuff, using WordPress, completely independently, dealing with all the different SEO stuff on my own.
It was all very supportive, which is nice, and it gave me a lot of confidence.
I've done a lot of writing and believe in my skill in writing - but the course focused on editing, formatting, navigating all that, and understanding an algorithm.
Simon and Aiden were fantastic - and it was not just valuable for the skills, but it was also fun.
I was kind of surprised how much fun it was - and you can tell how passionate they are about the subject about the course that they're running.
And that just kind of rubs off on you. So yeah, it's probably the most enjoyable way you could ever take on these skills. So I would recommend it.

I loved the whole SEO Lab 24 course - it was kind of perfect for me. The great thing about the course is it's tailored to how you'd like it to be.
It was very, very supported the whole way through.
The good thing about the course is that it gives you time to practise. I'm a massive practical learner, and I can't really learn anything until I've done it a few times.
I'd say the most transferable part [of the course) was the CMS training on WordPress.
But the course is not just confined to one space, it covers journalism in all forms, everyone needs to publish articles, everyone needs to create video content.
And you learn from the ground up - you learn how to sub edit, you learn how to publish, you learn how to make everything SEO optimised.
It's great, and it's not too long and drawn out - everything's compressed, but you still have the time to learn everything efficiently.
I’d absolutely recommend the course.
